Cultivate Oregon is part of a state-wide coalition that includes Our Family Farms, Center for Food Safety, Friends of Family Farmers, Oregonians for Safe Farms and Families, and Oregon Organic Coalition. We are a proud sponsored project of Earth Island Institute.
The vision of Our Family Farms is simple - we work to create thriving communities by promoting and protecting family farms and traditional seeds from the threats of genetically engineered (GE) crops.
Our Family Farms is an advocate for family farms and traditional seed crops. We work to strengthen local communities by supporting collaboration, legislation and education to create GE-free agricultural zones in the United States and around the world.
Center for Food Safety (CFS) is a national non-profit public interest and environmental advocacy organization working to protect human health and the environment by curbing the use of harmful food production technologies and by promoting organic and other forms of sustainable agriculture. CFS also educates consumers concerning the definition of organic food and products. CFS uses legal actions, groundbreaking scientific and policy reports, books and other educational materials, market pressure and grass roots campaigns through our True Food Network. CFS's successful legal cases collectively represent a landmark body of case law on food and agricultural issues.
Friends of Family Farmers builds a strong and united voice for Oregon’s independent family farmers, food advocates, and concerned citizens who are working to foster an approach to agriculture that respects the land, treats animals humanely, sustains local communities, and provides a viable livelihood for family farmers.
It is our belief that every person — urban and agrarian, farmer and eater — has the ability to make choices that can help regenerate our food system.
We are a grassroots organization promoting sensible policies, programs, and regulations that protect and expand the ability of Oregon’s family farmers to run a successful land-based enterprise while providing safe and nutritious food for all Oregonians. Through education, advocacy, and community organizing, Friends of Family Farmers supports socially and environmentally responsible family-scale agriculture and citizens working to shape healthy rural and urban communities.
Oregonians for Safe Farms and Families (OSFF) is a non-profit organization working to support the restriction of GMO crops in Josephine County, Oregon in order to protect and promote safe farms and families.
Oregonians for Safe Farms and Families was founded in 2014, and has been instrumental in passing and supporting the GMO restriction in Josephine County. Located in Grants Pass, Oregonians for Safe Farms and Families is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization and along with its sister organization, GMO Free Josephine County, works tirelessly for the GMO Free community throughout the Rogue Valley.
Oregon Organic Coalition
The Oregon Organic Coalition (OCC) is an organization founded to advance the development and growth of the organic industry and community in Oregon. This group was formed to address the lack of unified support for promoting our industry in Oregon. The OOC brings together representatives of Oregon-based constituencies, both from the organic trade and from the other stakeholders active in the organic community, to provide direction and endorsements of activities that promote Oregon's organic industry.
